Be Ready Herriman Important Dates

Dear Volunteer,

Thank you for making last Saturday's emergency exercise a success! We received good feedback from residents that it helped them consider their own preparedness. As emergency leaders, we also learn and improve from each drill.

Please review our upcoming training dates.

CERT Animal Module Training - One Night Only
This training replaces our regular Be Ready Herriman monthly meeting.

  • When: Thursday, Oct. 6th, 6:00-9:00PM
  • Where: Located at Herriman Fire Station #123, 4800 West Mt. Ogden Peak Dr.
  • Cost/Requirements: No Cost, No Prerequisite
  • Taught by Dr. Hess & Dr. Crnich, Veterinarians with the Utah Emergency Animal Response Coalition. As there are only three instructors in the state, we mayUEARC Logo be delayed in receiving this opportunity again. Please make it a priority to be there.
  • NOTE: Herriman City will form an Animal CERT team for use in evacuating large animals or providing animal services to evacuees. Please attend and invite your horse- or animal-skilled neighbors to attend to participate in this team.


Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training (4 weeks)

  • CERT Registration - Online
  • Cost: $30.00 (Reimbursed for Herriman residents plus receive a CERT Backpack upon completion)
  • Prerequisite On-line Course: “Introduction to CERT” (IS317) Online
  • CERTHerriman Classes –Herriman Fire Station #123, 4800 West Mt. Ogden Peak Dr.
    • Tuesdays, Oct. 11, 18, 25 (6:30-9:30PM), Saturday, October 29 (9AM-Noon)
  • Riverton Classes - Riverton City Hall, 12830 S. Redwood Road
    • Wednesdays, Oct. 12, 19, 26 (6:30-9:30PM), Saturday, October 29 (9AM-Noon)
  • NOTE: For convenience, participants may attend either the Tuesday or Wednesday class.


Boy Sclogo_2011_smallout overnight “Jamboree on the Air” (JOTA) & Radio Merit Badge

  • When: Friday, Oct. 14 – Sat., October 15 (check in from 4-6PM)
  • Where: W&M Butterfield Park, 6212 W Butterfield Parkway (14200 S)
  • Cost: $0 (FREE)
  • Registration & Details: Online
  • NOTE: We've had very few registrations for this event; please forward this information to Scoutmasters in your area.


HAM Radio Technician Training (5 weeks)

  • HAM Registration - Online
  • When: Saturday, October 22, 29, November 5, 12, 19 (9-11:30AM)
  • Cost: $18.00 – Manual + $15.00 – FCC License
  • Where: Herriman Fire Station #123, 4800 West Mt. Ogden Peak Dr.
    • First 4 weeks cover the course material.
    • The FCC Testing Session will be held November 19th.
    • Participants who miss one of the weeks can make up material after each class
